Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and of course, you want it to go without a hitch.

However, stressing out about your big day can cloud your focus and make it difficult for you to make decisions. It can make planning your wedding tough, and it can make living in the moment on your big day and actually enjoying yourself a chore.

Below, we’re going to talk about the things you can do that will make your wedding day 10x less stressful – have a look and you’ll be floating on cloud 9 on your big day, rather than breathing into a paper bag!

1. Assign Somebody To Remind You To Breathe

Assign a good friend or family member to remind you to breathe throughout the day. They can come and give you a reminder, and that’s your cue to take 60 seconds to take some deep breaths and take in what’s going on around you!

2. Delegate Jobs

Don’t be afraid to delegate jobs to other people. Have your maid of honour check everything is going smoothly with the vendors, and divvy out the other jobs to people you trust on the day. When it comes to things like wedding photography, though, you’ll be better off hiring somebody like Vittore Buzzi Photography rather than your uncle with an old Kodak.

3. Hire A Professional Planner

A professional wedding planner won’t be in everyone’s budget, but they can seriously save you time, energy, and tears. Look into it and consider whether this could be a viable option for you.

4. When Hiring Vendors Or Looking Online, Don’t Type ‘Wedding’

When you type ‘wedding’, or even just say it on the phone, it automatically makes things far more expensive. You’d be surprised at how much less you’ll be quoted when you insinuate you are having a party rather than a wedding.

5. Don’t Worry About What Other People Think

It’s your day, and it should make you and your partner happy. If you worry too much about what other people think, your day will not be your own – and you may end up with some pretty big regrets afterwards.

6. Cut Down Your Guest List

Make it a rule to only invite people you have spoken to in the last 2 years. This is great for your sanity and your wallet – you should never feel obliged to invite absolutely everybody you know, especially if you haven’t spoken to them for years.

7. Look After Yourself In The Months/Weeks Leading Up To The Day

Make sure you’re looking after yourself. Drink your water, focus on great nutrition, take your vitamins, and get into a great sleep routine. Do this months in advance! It’ll be great for both your physical and mental health.

8. Eat A Meal In The Morning

Have breakfast in the morning, even if it’s only light. You’ll need that energy to see you through!
