Today on Mini Travel Series are Katas Raj Temples (or Qila Katas) where I had been craving to go for years and I finally did recently. These are several Hindu temples linked to each other by walkways. The temples form a complex surrounding a pond named Katas which is regarded as sacred by Hindus.
The complex is located in the Potohar Plateau region in Punjab. The temples are located near Kallar Kahar and are close to M2 Motorway. It is ideal to visit this place while traveling between Lahore and Islamabad.
In 2006, the Pakistani government began restoration works at the temples, with further improvements announced in 2017. I really wanted to play chupan chupai in this place as its so enticing. The water is turquoise colored and we saw a couple of turtles in the water. I would definitely recommend couples and families to explore this place.
