I never decided on this post as I am myself new in Steak area. My husband loves it. So I tried it for him twice in our new apartment. Last time I used no oil and made it in the oven. This time, I made up my own concoction which was inspired from different recipes on the internet. I took it with me at Iftar Pot Luck and it was a success. When I shared its picture on my Insta Stories, I got way too many requests asking for its recipe. So I’m sharing it here on my blog today.
Marination time:
At least 3 hours or overnight
Preparation time:
30 minutes
Ingredients for Steaks:
- 4 slices of Beef Steak
- 1 tsp Vinegar
- 1/2 tsp Soya sauce

- 2 Table Spoons chopped/sliced mushrooms

Method for Steaks:
- Marinate beef steak in all the above ingredients for at least 3 hours
- Make sure you pierce the steak with fork while mixing it in the marination
- Put about 3 Table spoons of oil in a frying pan on Medium heat
- Add only the steaks in the pan but keep the marinate aside
- After 2 minutes turn them over. Till you get a good colour
- Decide whether you want the steaks rare, medium rare, medium or well done. I chose well done
- Take them out once beef is done on a newspaper
- Dap the steaks with paper towel to remove excess oil
- Add steaks in the serving dish
- Add steak sauce on top of the steaks and serve hot with preferably some mashed potatoes/steamed vegetables
Ingredients for sauce:
- Sliced onions – 1 small onion
- Sliced Garlic cloves – 2 cloves
- Green chillies/Jalapeno chilly – 1 tsp chopped
Method for Sauce:
- In a small pan, add 2 tsp cooking oil
- Add sliced onions and garlic and let it simmer on medium heat till onions are slightly softer but not golden
- Add all the remaining marinate in the sauce
- Add chopped green chillies/Jalapeno chilies and pour the sauce over beef steaks
